FurryTales was created as a mobile veterinary service because it was recognised that such a service was required in the Canberra district. It was necessary for FurryTales to have a staff of vets and nurses that all shared the same necessary professionalism together with a passion for animals and animals’ health issues. Here’s a little bit about the staff:
 |
Dr Fiona Cox BVSc (Hons) was originally a Queensland girl and she moved to Canberra in 2004 after graduating from the University of Queensland. She worked at a number of veterinary practices around Canberra prior to settling at West Queanbeyan Veterinary Hospital, the partner clinic to FurryTales.
Fiona lives in Queanbeyan together with her furry children, Kiah and Chloe (her kelpie & Fox terrier.. both pound rescuees), Shrek and Princess (her cats), Pippin the horse and her five happy chickens. Dr Fiona is also a member & avid supporter of ACT Dog Rescue & Foster (ARF) & Canberra Pooch Rescue. Her role involves providing a temporary home for dogs rescued from the pound before they are able to find a new permanent home. For the past 2 years Dr Fiona has also been a mentor for Barnardos, the childrens charity.

Lauren has two pets – Lacey, the Chihuahua and Noodle, her cat. Claire Blake, Lauren's sister also assists Furrytales. Claire has Roxy the Chihuahua.
